Forget the rumours you’ve heard on social media about Beyoncé’s alleged South African tour. Scenic Storyteller can confirm that R&B heartthrob NE-YO has officially added South Africa to his tour destinations, and fans will get a taste of his Sexy Love in October.
The Independent Woman hitmaker last dazzled local crowds in 2020. In his own words, NE-YO “can’t get enough of the people and the atmosphere in South Africa,” suggesting that just like Anthony Hamilton, Joe, Boyz II Men, Tamia, and many other returnees, he too has perhaps fallen in love with Mzansi. Before this, NE-YO had mesmerised audiences in Cape Town and the now-closed iconic Johannesburg venue, the Coca-Cola Dome, in 2016.

Vertex Events’ Executive Director, Thato Segaole, said: “Giving the audiences a chance to experience a talented and respected artist such as NE-YO is a great pleasure for our team. We look forward to producing live shows of a great stature that will create endless talkability.” Segaole added that Vertex Events’ vision to bring timeless music to the fans would once again happen with hard work, dedication, and precision, and reminded music lovers to purchase their tickets before they run out.
The three-time Grammy Award-winning musician is also a skilled songwriter, having given fans such hits as Rihanna’s Unfaithful and Take a Bow, Beyoncé’s timeless hit Irreplaceable, as well as numerous hits by Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, and many other stars.
NE-YO will perform live at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town on 17 October, and at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on 18 October. Tickets will be available for purchase on Webtickets and at Pick n Pay stores nationwide in due course.
